Godly Wisdom, Good Conduct, & Gentleness
Reflecting on our volatile culture & godly wisdom--
"Who among you is wise and understanding?
By his good conduct he should show that his works are done
in the gentleness that comes from wisdom."
Note that godly wisdom results in:
- Good conduct: Moral actions & words that demonstrate a true love of God & love of neighbor.
- Gentleness: "The quality of not being overly impressed by a sense of one’s self-importance, gentleness, humility, courtesy, considerateness, meekness in the older favorable sense"*
When we claim wisdom or understanding of something, does it express itself in these two qualities? Whether it is a social media post, words or an attitude toward your family/friends/coworkers, or any other expression--biblical wisdom will result in good conduct and humility. Arrogance & unethical behavior is evidence of 'wisdom from below.'
Christians--regardless of your views on current issues--check your heart, actions, words, & attitudes. As needed, courageously & humbly repent, make things right, walk in a manner worthy of your calling.
